Professional Background:

David has worked in policy formulation as a career civil servant in the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade and in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Canberra and as a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Governance Law and International Relations, London Metropolitan University.  His academic and policy experience has focused on East Asia, with a particular interest in the relationship between economic policy and foreign policy.  David is currently working on a book to be published with Routledge which is a long term view of the development of Japanese macro-economic policy.
